Dr. Kelvin CHAN graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 2003 and received training in cardiology and advanced internal medicine in Queen Mary Hospital. During his service in public sector, Dr. Chan focused tremendously on percutaneous coronary intervention (especially 24/7 emergency PCI surgery), and also led the establishment of new clinical service for high risk pregnancy and adult congenital heart disease. He joined private sector in 2020 and remained as Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in HKU.

With his extensive clinical experience in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), Dr. Chan firmly believes that PCI is an essential treatment that could, and indeed, has saved numerous lives from heart attacks. Besides, nowadays there are even better coronary stents and equipment to enhance the surgical outcome and safety. Nevertheless, prevention is still better than cure, and Dr Chan upholds that all heart attacks or coronary artery blockages should be treated earlier on if possible by managing one’s cardiovascular risk factors.
