About the Speaker :
Mr. Stephen WONG joined the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in 1979. The HKTDC is the statutory organization responsible for promoting and developing Hong Kong's international trade in products and services. In a career spanning 38 years, Mr. Wong was HKTDC'S Regional Director - Europe (2012 -2016), Regional Director - Middle East and Africa (2009 - 2011) and Regional Director - Americas (2003 - 2008). Prior to his overseas postings, Mr. Wong held several senior positions in the Head Office, including Director of Information Services, during which he spearheaded HKTDC's e-commerce initiatives and developed HKTDC's trade portal, hktdc.com (2001 - 2002), Director of Product Promotion, responsible for the planning and implementing HKTDC's trade promotion events in Hong Kong and overseas (1999 - 2001). He also headed HKTDC's Administration and Human Resources Departments in the 1990's.
Mr. Wong graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and completed the Columbia Senior Executive Program in New York.
